Shokka, if you want me to split this topic so that our posts is in a new thread, just say so.

I dont mind bro, discussions are welcome, but i understand that they need to be relevant to the topic.

Do as you wish bro; I will update the 1st post as and when info is available.

All i can say is, that I am jailbroken on my 4, with themes running, and virtually as I was before on 4.2.1. Untether will be very soon, I can feel it!!

Cool

Been tethered since release!

Only a few apps require a full reboot from Cydia. I havent had one instance of a random reboot or crash (to cause a reboot).

There was one episode.......(I was showing my friend how easy it is to get into DFU, then I realised I was tethered. So was he, but he used Redsn0w to Jailbreak his iPhone4. So, just for giggles, I thought I would try Redsn0w 'Just Boot' option, even though I had used Sn0wbreeze to JB my iPhone4. It appeared to work, although Redsn0w takes a lot longer to boot than Sn0wbreeze. It worked to the point my phone rebooted. But when i accessed any screens, I had the dreaded quarter screen screen size!! So I had to go home, restore my Custom Firmware, do a Restore, Sync, then install all my Cydia apps again. Since then I have had an uptime of 14 days. No reboots!)

Moral of the story is, Dont use the wrong app to reboot your tethered Jailbreak.

Wink

But, yeah, you shouldnt need to reboot your phone, unless you turn it off every night or something? Even then, with Sn0wbreeze, it takes seconds to reboot it.

To be fair, I take my USB pen and cable everywhere with me, just in case, but I havent needed it!

Take care

Hooray Cheesy
I untethered my iphone 4 a few days ago!
For some reason, When i updated to 5.0.1, and then cracked with redsnow, It didn't untether my phone!
I had to download corona from cydia, then i had a untethered phone Smiley

If someone has an explanation for this, it would increase my knowledge for sure Smiley

BTW, i had the latest redsnow download i.e "b5c".....

Hi All,

I got my iphone 4s from AT&T before moving to Asia, and I need to unlock it to be able to use it with other SIMs.

Though the new local SIM did not work on it, I was still happily using the device for apps and other purposes.

But then the mess started when I downgraded the OS from 5.1 to 5.0.
Result? Now it only says "NO SIM CARD INSTALLED - Insert a valid SIM with no PIN Lock to activate iPhone".
When I insert the SIM, it does not work.

What do I do ?

Please help.

@akhil:

I think your phone has just locked itself.
Get it unlocked from a good mechanic, then you would be good to go!!!
I think as in most cases, this was a locked phone from AT&T, and has to be Unlocked for any changes in SIMs or iOS.
