I am trying to sell my Iphone 4 AT&T 16gb. I used jailbreakme.com with IOS 4.3.3 .
My prospective buyer wants the phone(s) kept JB but I want to do a complete Erase of my phones.
The initial thought I had was to do an Erase and Restore on the Phone hoping the data would get wiped out but the IOS 4.3.3 would remain so I could rejailbreak it.
When I try to do the Erase and Restore on the phone, I just see the Apple Logo with a Status Bar but remains that way with no change for Hours. I can do a RESET to get the phone back on but still need to erase while hopefully maintaining the older OS Version with ability to RE-JB.
Does anyone have any suggestions Please? Buyer is ready.

If you download redsn0w, uu can get the 4.3.3 ipsw file with it and jailbreak it that way, then you will be able to wipe the phone clean and have it jailbroken at the same time. Search the forum for tutorial on jailbreaking ios5 and you will find the link to the dev team redsn0w site where you can download redsn0w...

Thanks c0yle! I am not sure what you mean though...sorry for the ignorance. Do I JB the phones again using RedSn0w even though they are JB already and that will give me the IPSW of 4.3.3? Question is how do I clean and have it JB at the same time?

Thats exactly what you need to do, see, when u use jailbreakme.com it uses a .pdf exploit in the firmware, where redsn0w uses one in the bootrom (i belive) so you have to download the .ipsw file and have redsnow jb it then install it on your phone. You have to manually put your phone into DFU mode, which it explains how to do. This will make the phone think its being restored to original and in turn "clean" your phone at the same time...removing any cydia tweaks, app store apps, music, etc.
This "should" work, it has with me in the past...i am on ios5 now, so no jb fOr me atm...ios5 is alot nicer tho. Hope you understand what im saying...it can kind of seem chinese, most of it still does to me too, but ive done tethered jb's and had to restore a few times so this should be just like re-jailbreaking after a shutdown of a tethered jb...good luck

So I downloaded Redsn0w and as well as the 4.3.3 ipsw. What I am concerned about is that all of the directions say to download the latest IOS version which I thought I HAVE to stay away from IOS5? Can I skip that step and start using the Redsn0w by pointing to the IPSW file I want? Not sure if i need to get SHSH Blobs or save/keep baseband.

So I think I did the redsn0w jb I believe....It ran through the process and showed completed both on the RedSn0w tool AND the phone itself but it all looked the same as it was before.
How would I know if this wiped anything out? I had to put in DFU mode but doesnt seem anything changed.

It should be all set, no reason that it didnt wipe the phone clean...it still has everything you had on it before?

You have to go into advanced options in redsn0w, and select the 4.3.3.ipsw then jailbreak and restore with that...
Or you can hold the shift key down when you click restore in iTunes and select the .ipsw you downloaded and restore using that

When i tried last night i went to the "Extras" and located the IPSW 4.3.3 that I downloaded and RedSn0w said it would use that file for the rest of the Jailbreak process.
I am on a Mac and when I tried to do what you just said, I went in again to specify 4.3.3 file, then chose to do the PWND DFU mode. When I go to iTunes to restore, I dont see a section to let me Choose 4.3.3 and the agreement for 5.0 comes up so I canceled out.
Sorry to take so much of your time. I am a newb but trying to follow step by step with no success.

Still no luck with RedSn0w. I continued to do read the Blog from the 13th but still mentions using IOS5 but I improvised and used 4.3.3 IPSW that I downloaded. It goes through the motions of JB and there black screen with scrolling white text happens and then the phone reboots successfully but All of my old jailbreakme.com changes mods are still there.
I am thinking of trying pwnagetool next but not sure. This is so frustrating that I just want to make sure my data is off the phone (just venting).
Thanks again.

@seemore
This is going to get more difficult as the days pass....but if I were you, I would use Custom Firmware.
Ideally 4.3.3 to keep it Jailbroken. Use Sn0wbreeze. Create your firmware, use iTunes to restore it, then when its done, the phone will be back to stock 4.3.3 and will simply need setting up again in iTunes by the new owner.
RedSn0w & Jailbreakme.com are Jailbreaking over the top of a current install. Nothing will change, all your data will be on the iDevice.
Use a Custom firmware like Pwnagetool or Sn0wbreeze.
Dont sync or restore after restoring the firmware, this is wil then put your data back onto the iDevice.
Good luck
